Many of North America’s migratory birds rely on the Central Flyway’s diverse marsh and wetland habitats for their spring and fall journeys. The Central Flyway is massive and comprises more than half the landmass of the continental United States, before extending into Central and South America. That migration corridor is shaped like an hourglass: wide at the northern end of the flyway, it narrows in the middle as it passes through Nebraska, then widens again as it passes through Oklahoma and Texas. This flyway is home to a large percentage of North America’s ducks and geese.
